Objective To summarize the best evidence of health education on venous thrombosis prevention in orthopedic major surgery patients at home and abroad. Methods Applying the method of evidence-based nursing, questions were raised, relevant literatures in various databases were retrieved. The literature evaluation criteria and evidence classification system of JBI were adopted to conduct quality evaluation, evidence level assessment and evidence summary of the literatures that met the requirements. Finally, the evidence themes were summarized and extracted. Results A total of 18 articles were included in the literature, including 2 guidelines, 1 clinical decision-making, 1 recommended practice, 8expert consensus, and 6 evidence summaries, which summarized the best evidence for health education on venous thrombosis prevention in orthopedic patients undergoing major surgery at home and abroad, including 4 aspects and 31 pieces of evidence, including education strategies, preoperative education, postoperative education, and follow-up management.Conclusion The best evidence for health education on the prevention of venous thrombosis in patients undergoing major orthopedic surgeries has been summarized, which can provide clinical decision-making basis for nurses to conduct health education for patients.
